In parliamentary procedure as defined in Robert’s Rules of Order,a motion is a formal proposal by a member of a deliberative Assembly, that the assembly take certain action,while a resolution reflects the general opinion of the board. Not all motions can be resolutions, but all Resolutions come from motions.
lawmaking process consist of finding major and marginal compromises to ideas advanced for legislation. The legislature is empowered to adopt Rules and Regulations to guide the conduct of business.

The 6th Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly under a pragmatic leader with double intellectual quotient,Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke,has so far conducted her legislative business with dedication and commitment to the principles of the constitution, and the collective greater interest of Akwa Ibom State.
The commitment of the House in putting the interest of the people of the State first ,is seen in the various motions resolved by the House and other matters.
For instance, the motion on indiscriminate advertising on and defacing of the walls of our Public Education Institutions, sponsored by Rt. Hon. Onofiok Luke, which the House resolved that His Excellency the Governor direct the removal of all forms of adverts not connected to Education from the premises our public Education Institutions. That corporate entities and business concern operating in the State should invest in the future of our children by building schools blocks ,science Laboratories,Libraries, other sporting activities as part of their corporate social responsibilities instead of advertising on school fences in the guise of painting,was resolved in the best interest of the people of the State and to help strengthen the Education institutions in the State.
